33 | Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer (AMS) and Dark Matter

Today there are headlines about scientists being closer to discovering 'dark matter', whatever that is.  In the article, the tool responsible for the 'near discovery' is referred to as the AMS, or Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer.  This is yet another '33' in science, which is what I want to document.
  • AMS = 1+13+19 = 33
  • Alpha = 1+3+7+8+1 = 20
  • Magnetic = 4+1+7+5+5+2+9+3 = 36
  • Spectrometer = 1+7+5+3+2+9+6+4+5+2+5+9 = 58
  • Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer = 20+36+58 = 114
